In
his sound installations, Vladimir Tarasov combines objects,
various sounds, noises and/or some specially chosen music. His
art works are based on the unity of space, action (most of the
installations are kinetic) and music; their expression is
poetic, metaphorical, sometimes – subtly ironical. The
exhibition at the Radvila Palace of the Lithuanian Art Museum is
the first retrospective of this artist in Lithuania. Some
earlier created works as well as three entirely new sound
installations are presented in the museum halls. All of them are
specially adjusted to the spaces of the Palace, sited in them,
with an attempt to create a polyphonic audiovisual totality. The
exposition is complemented with V. Tarasov’s scores, sketches of
installations and display of his LP records, CDs, and catalogues
of exhibitions.
